Providing Disability Evaluations for Individuals with Fatigue-Related Illnesses

About Us

Workwell Foundation exercise physiologists provide expertise to support a diagnosis, functional assessments, and treatment in the areas of ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and other fatigue-related illnesses. We work with doctors and attorneys to provide documentation that can assist patients in obtaining disability benefits.

We use cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) to measure an individual’s ability to function in a structured work environment. CPET is considered the gold standard for objectively measuring and evaluating functional capacity and fatigue.

Our Mission

Workwell’s mission is to focus on research concerning the functional aspects of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) to facilitate an understanding of the biological basis for fatigue and post-exertional malaise (PEM).

Did you know?

  • It is estimated that up to 2.5 million Americans and many more worldwide are affected by chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS).
  • Because the cause(s) of ME/CFS are not yet understood, there are no definitive diagnostic tests and no standardized effective treatments.
  • Annually, ME/CFS drains $18-$24 billion from the United States economy, due to both direct medical costs and indirect costs such as lost work productivity.
  • Workwell Foundation continues to be involved in research concerning ME/CFS.  There are many potential projects on the horizon.  Please check back soon for details.
